Warriors: A New Era (Chapter 15 and 16)

Chapter 15

Spottedstorm's mouth was clenched shut. Even if she understood what happened, she couldn't say it to Mosspool. She took a deep breath, "I saw… blood, lots of blood," she paused, "It was from a cat."

Mosspool's eyes widened, "From who, one of our cats?" Mosspool suddenly seemed to become edgy, she couldn't stand still.

"Yes," Spottedstorm whispered. That was all she could say. She wanted to say "no" or even an uncertain answer, but her answer was much worse.

Mosspool looked down. She was obviously disappointed. She nudged her towards camp and away from Rustystones. They both walked quietly and never said a word. Spottedstorm wanted to cheer Mosspool up, but there was no way possible that could mask the news.

When they both got to camp, Spottedstorm searched for her sister. Instead, Stripedfang blocked her search. "How did the training go?" He asked.

Spottedstorm looked away, "Good, but I have to go." Without a reply, she stormed off. Good? She thought, What's good about blood? Why would I lie to him? She was uncertain about a lot of things recently. She couldn't comprehend why she would lie to one of her closest friends.

Spottedstorm spotted Bluedapple by the medicine cat's den. "Hey," she mewed "Why are you over here?"

Bluedapple didn't reply at first, she looked up with a forced smile, "Nothing, what's up?"

"You promise not to tell anyone?" Spottedstorm said. She nodded. "Mosspool has a mate,"

"But she's a medicine cat! That's against the rules!" Bluedapple shrieked without thinking. Spottedstorm was silent, she didn't know what else there was to say. "Just don't worry about it, it's probably a phase," Bluedapple replied. Spottedstorm nodded and walked away. Bluedapple stopped her quickly.  "Spottedstorm?"

"Yes?" she replied

"What if… I made the wrong decision," Bluedapple sighed

"About what?" Spottedstorm was confused. What would she be upset about? She finally accomplished every kit's dream

"About… being a warrior," she whispered.


Chapter 16

Spottedstorm was beyond shocked. How could her sister say such a thing! Not being a warrior? What else would she be, a kittypet? She calmed herself down. "Why would you say something like that?"

"Ever since we became warriors, I couldn't take on the duties. It sounds absurd, but all I can do right is what a medicine cat does. What if Starclan meant for me to be one?" Bluedapple replied

Showing a slight grin, Spottedstorm replied, "It's a little late for that. Are you sure?" Bluedapple looked around, but she nodded. "Should I talk to Mosspool for you?" She asked.

"No, you know fully well what she'll say. 'It's against the rules,'" Bluedapple said. "I want to talk to Starclan by myself."

Spottedstorm flinched. What if the cat she envisioned was Bluedapple? It was a cat she recognized, but not enough to distinguish. If it were true, she wouldn't make it back alive.  Spottedstorm felt as though it was now her duty to keep her clan members safe, but how? She knew if she told Silverstar he would announce it to everyone. It would cause a panic in Moonclan.

"I'm going with you," Spottedstorm stated.

"No, this isn't about you," Bluedapple yelled

Spottedstorm knew Bluedapple wouldn't budge. She was too stubborn to cooperate. She tried to think of anyone to go with her other than herself. "Please don't go. I had a vision it won't go well." Spottedstorm pleaded

Bluedapple didn't reply. She walked away before Spottedstorm could say a word more. Spottedstorm knew Bluedapple wouldn't give up on this journey, even if it could mean death.
